Introduction

The objective of this series of ten audio tutorials is to introduce a basic vocabulary of about 700 words which play an essential role in the early stages of the learning of French. This selection is augmented with short situational examples and divided into four categories : the nouns, or substantives, whose role is to point to people, things or ideas; the verbs, which signify actions; the adjectives, which qualify the substantives; and the adverbs, which provide an added dimension to verbs or adjectives.
